Timothy Hawkins
Master Craftsman Furniture Designer Maker
A furniture designer maker for many years now, Tim began making professionally after leaving Art College & he would happily describe himself at times as an artist craftsman, since given the opportunity he loves designing functional pieces which possess artistic expression.
Tim makes all kinds of contemporary as well as more traditional pieces & will design to tie in with existing furniture if that will best suit your requirements.
Bespoke commissions are Tim’s speciality – he also creates designs as exhibition pieces, or for sale from here at his gallery & many of his beautiful pieces find their way from here into hearts & homes!
He sometimes combines two different woods of contrasting colours or might incorporate other materials such as metal or glass.
Whilst most of the pieces Tim creates are finished with a clear, protective cellulose lacquer he will happily finish in other ways too – waxed; limed; colour stained/painted; distressed etc.
Perhaps you would like to consider having a piece made especially for you, or for someone you love?
Tim offers free initial sketches & quotations & will be very happy to discuss projects big or small if you have something in mind, or if you would like him to offer ideas – there is no charge for the discussion, which can often help clarify what will work best for you.
Weddings, anniversaries & special occasions
If you are getting married or celebrating a special anniversary, Tim would be delighted to create a unique bespoke piece for you as your special & lasting gift to one another, or as a piece towards which your friends & family might wish to contribute!
A Master Craftsman Cabinet Maker, Tim’s skills include:
Chair making; carving; turning; parquetry; framing; inlaying
