Jonathan Sant

Jonathan grew up in the north Herefordshire countryside & has a background in both mathematics & graphic design – his most recent paintings though reflect his love of romantic art.

He captures, in mineral colours and through the filter of human perception, images of local scenes and creatures that are part of our shared consciousness – generally in acrylic, oils or mixed media on canvas or reclaimed board.

Jonathan’s skies are often wide and improvised, his animals reflect our gaze & the anonymous denizens of his street scenes appear to be finding their way around.

Previous art and design commissions have included fabric design for a leading supplier, animal portraits, logo design and fine line drawings.

Also a stained glass artist and a photographer, Jonathan produces greetings cards of his work & his love of ancient landscapes has led him to write and illustrate local books on the subjects of holy wells and standing stones.
